Scott McTominay has missed out on selection for Scotland's upcoming World Cup qualifiers but captain Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney are both included in Steve Clarke's squad. McTominay picked up an injury following Manchester United's Premier League opener against Leeds which prevented him from starting in their 1-1 draw at Southampton on Saturday. Clark, 29, has secured his maiden call-up after winning a cup double with St Johnstone last season, while Kelly is set to make his first international cap despite being included in previous squads. Full Scotland squadImage: Scotland manager Steve Clarke his hoping his side can build on an encouraging Euro 2020 showingGoalkeepers: Craig Gordon (Hearts), Zander Clark (St Johnstone), Liam Kelly (Motherwell). Rob Page admits Gareth Bale's return to the Real Madrid fold is a "bonus" after the Wales caretaker manager named his 27-man squad for the upcoming international break. Wales travel to Finland for a friendly on September 1 before resuming their World Cup qualifying campaign against Belarus - in Russia - four days later. You want all your players playing competitive football when they come on camp," Page told Sky Sports News. Bale dismissed talk he would retire from international football after Wales' last-16 exit to Denmark at the Euros, and Page said there have been no discussions with the 32-year-old regarding his future. "It's great that he's starting again and back in the thoughts of the manager which is brilliant," Page added.
W illian is closing in on a move to Corinthians as Arsenal look to offload players before the transfer window shuts next week. Arsenal are keen to trim their squad further before the August 31 deadline and Willian is one of those who can leave. The Brazilian, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea on a free transfer last summer, has slipped down the pecking order at Emirates Stadium. Talks with Corinthians are at an advanced stage and there is optimism a deal will be done before the transfer window shuts. Kolasinac is another player Arsenal would be happy to offload, but his £100,000-a-week wages could prove a stumbling block.
Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba will follow in Gerard Pique's footsteps and take a significant pay cut to help the club ease off some of their financial burden, according to reports from ESPN. However, things seem to be heading in the right direction after Gerard Pique decided to voluntarily reduce this wage to help Barcelona register new signings Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay along with Rey Manaj. Jordi Alba has become the second Barcelona player to accept a pay cut to help the Catalan giants balance their books. However, some reports claim that Alba is set to take a 25% pay cut on his existing salary. Two other long serving players in Sergi Roberto and Sergio Busquets are set to follow Pique and Alba and could take a pay cut in the near future.
Tottenham are interested in signing Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar. Sky Sports News has learned informal talks have been held with Aouar's representatives. Aouar has two years left on his Lyon contract and wants to weigh up all of his options before making a decision on his future. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said he "cannot convince players to play for Tottenham" when asked about Ndombele's future.
