In his debut triumph, Nico Ali Walsh wears a present from his grandfather Muhammad Ali.

On Saturday, Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of former heavyweight champion and boxing legend Muhammad Ali, defeated Jordan Weeks in his professional boxing debut via technical knockout.
Ali Walsh, a middleweight fighter, is the son of Muhammad Ali's daughter Rasheda Ali Walsh and Robert Walsh.
In June, the 21-year-old inked a contract with Top Rank Boxing, owned by Bob Arum, ahead of his first professional fight in Oklahoma.
Weeks was knocked down midway through the first round by Ali Walsh, who was wearing trunks his grandfather had given him, before the bout was stopped by the referee.
"Of course, it's my grandfather; I've been thinking about him a lot."
I'm missing him.
"It's been a rollercoaster ride," Ali Walsh told ESPN.
"I think me and him [Weeks] made some history tonight," he says.
Muhammad Ali died in June 2016, and this lived up to all of my expectations."
His record-setting boxing career, unrivaled showmanship, and civil rights activism made him one of the most well-known individuals of the twentieth century.
"It appears to be a lot of pressure; to me, it's just my granddad," Ali Walsh, a Las Vegas native, said.
"He's the best boxer - and possibly the greatest person - who ever lived."
"I'm never wearing these trunks again," he said, seemingly signaling his intention to forge his own path moving ahead.

I hate that I can't label Marvel's Shang-Chi a must-see.

I hate that I can't label Marvel's Shang-Chi a must-see.

Like Black Panther before it, Shang-Chi lays its groundwork in the best elements of a Marvel movie and then elevates them with specificity all its own. It's hard to recommend Shang-Chi as a must-see when seeing it may, preposterously, be a life-or-death decision. Chapek indicated Shang-Chi would head to Disney Plus right after its 45-day window in theaters, setting it up to be available to stream there in mid-October. Plus, Disney Plus doesn't specify how many people watch its titles. But, if you can do it safely, Shang-Chi is a movie worth going back to a theater to see.

Tuesday's lesson: Vic Fangio and Brandon Staley's system of 'playing gap and a half' - The Athletic

Last season, led by then-defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, the Rams finished the season as the fourth-best team in defensive DVOA, Football Outsider’s metric for efficiency. They did so by focusing their resources more on stopping the pass than the run, playing a ton of two-deep safety defenses with light boxes. Despite routinely not loading up the box with eight defenders, the Rams still finished third in defensive DVOA against the run. What Staley (now head coach of the Chargers ) is doing isn’t exactly new — a lot of it came from Broncos head coach Vic Fangio, and Fangio was influenced by many coaches before him. The way Fangio and Staley apply and adapt these principles to the modern game is what makes their defenses effective.

In a legal dispute with Disney, Marvel's Elizabeth Olsen compliments Scarlett Johansson.

Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit against Disney over Black Widow has received support from fellow actor Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Olsen (who is currently starring in Marvel’s WandaVision series on Disney+) said that Johansson was “so tough” and “when I read [about the legal action] I was like, ‘good for you Scarlett’”. She added that “when it comes to actors and their earnings, I mean, that’s just, that’s just all contracts. Disney denies it breached the agreement with Johansson, saying that her contract did not guarantee an “exclusive theatrical release”. Olsen’s fellow actor Jason Sudeikis, co-creator and star of streaming series Ted Lasso, also expressed his admiration for Johansson in the same interview, saying “it is appropriately bad-ass and on brand”.
