Erik ten Hag excited for Donny van de Beek reunion New Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is looking forward to working with former Ajax player Donny van de Beek when he returns from his loan spell at Everton

Manchester United's Ten Hag is looking forward to seeing Van de Beek again.

When former Ajax player Donny van de Beek returns from his loan spell at Everton, new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is excited to work with him.

What is the phrase?

According to a report from super-journalist Fabrizio Romano, who used his Twitter account to convey Erik ten Hag's initial news conference remarks.

"I truly had a fantastic relationship with Donny," Romano said, echoing Ten Hag's statement. Naturally, I'm looking forward to seeing him on the field again. At the time, Ajax had a terrific squad."

Excellent news

Van de Beek was a crucial member of Ten Hag's Ajax team that won the Eredivisie title and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018/19 season before joining United in 2020.

His contributions to Ajax under Ten Hag are undeniable. You only had to look at his statistics under the now 52-year-old to see how important he was to a promising team that included Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs De Ligt, David Neres, and Hakim Ziyech.

Will Donny's career at United be resurrected?

Vote yes or no

Van de Beek scored 32 goals and added 29 assists in 110 games for the Amsterdam side under Ten Hag, for a total of 61 attacking returns.

In 23 Eredivisie league appearances during his final season at Ajax, he scored eight goals and added six assists before joining Manchester United in what appeared to be a win-win situation for both parties.

1 of 10 Manchester United hasn't won the Premier League title in over eight years. Do you recall everything that occurred during that season? First and foremost, who was the club's most costly acquisition that year? Kagawa Shinji Van Persie, Robin Zaha, Wilfried Powell, Nick

But that was not the case, with Van de Beek unable to establish himself as a regular and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticking to a similar lineup week after week.

His stint at Everton did not go as planned, so a chance to work under former manager Ten Hag when he returns to his parent club could be his last chance to resurrect his Premier League career.

For Manchester United fans, this may feel like a fresh signing under Ten Hag's direction, an intriguing possibility that they will no doubt embrace.
