Bayern Munich interested in Sadio Mane

With Mo Salah, Bobby Firmino, and Sadio Mane all yet to sign long-term deals, it's no surprise that Europe's top clubs are already circling ahead of the summer transfer window.

Following rumours of Bayern Munich's interest in the No.10, a tweet from Florian Plettenberg claims that the Bavarians have made headway in negotiations with the Senegalese international and his entourage.

News #Mané: He can definitely see himself joining #FCBayern this summer! Talks with the athlete and his management are progressing. The next 3-4 weeks will be crucial. Nagelsmann and Brazzo are interested in him. Transfer fee is unlikely to exceed €50 million. #TransferUpdate @SkySportDE https://t.co/qBhLogrvzM May 23, 2022 — Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal)

The existing contracts of the famed front-three are slated to expire in the summer of 2023.

Exclusive: 'Liverpool scouts were watching' – Eredivisie expert Rik Elfrink gives a positive appraisal of 'one of the best players' in the Dutch top division.

Regardless of Mane's contract expiration date, the idea that we could lose a future Ballon d'Or candidate for as little as £42 million is completely insulting.

What will Liverpool's strategy be for Sadio Mane's future?

If we fail to agree on a contract extension for the winger-turned-striker, interested parties will have us on the ropes when it comes to dictating his value in the next transfer window.

Should we view Mane’s future under a similar lens to that being used to determine how we handle Mo Salah’s remaining time at Anfield, it’s possible that both forwards could be simply allowed to run down their remaining commitment to the side before parting ways on a free.

To be honest, it's a terrible scenario to contemplate, and one we'll be hoping to avoid given that both Mane and our No.11 are capable of continuing in the English top tier for another three to five years.
